Son, inexistent, loses in the first round in Dubai

Arthur Fils made his Dubai debut against Nuno Borges. The Frenchman had just come back from a break after Rotterdam, where he said he needed a breather.

Unfortunately for him, he lost in just 1h02 of play, 6-2, 6-1. Too few first serves and too many unforced errors were the main reasons.

In addition to his level of play, Fils displayed a very negative attitude during the match. He'll be looking to bounce back at Indian Wells.

This is the Portuguese's fourth win against a top 20 player. He will face Alexander Bublik or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the next round.
