Stats: 3 French Players in the Round of 16 at a Masters 1000, Only the Second Time Since 2020

Last night in Cincinnati, French fans were thrilled by the performances of three of their countrymen: Atmane, Bonzi, and Mannarino.
Indeed, the first defeated the rising star Fonseca (6-3, 6-4), the second took down Tsitsipas (6-7, 6-3, 6-4), and the last secured a hard-fought victory against Paul (5-7, 6-3, 6-4). As a result, all three have advanced to the tournament's Round of 16.
This situation is remarkable given how rare it has been in recent years. In Masters 1000 events, this is only the second time since 2020 that three French players have reached this stage of the competition. The last occurrence was at Paris-Bercy in 2024.
While Mannarino had only won 2 matches against Top 20 players in the past 52 weeks, for the other two, this marks their first-ever qualification for the Round of 16 at a Masters 1000 in their careers.
