Stats - Djokovic the bête noire of French players on the ATP Tour
Novak Djokovic once again got the better of Gaël Monfils.
In the last 16 of the Brisbane tournament, the Serb didn't need to strain his talent (6-3, 6-3) to claim his 20th victory in as many meetings against the 38-year-old Frenchman.
However, Monfils is not the only French player to have struggled against Djokovic in his career.
According to a statistic provided by the X (formerly Twitter) account Jeu, Set et Maths after Djokovic's latest win over Monfils, the Frenchman's record against the Serbian legend now stands at 85 defeats out of the last 87 encounters.
The only two players to have toppled Djokovic over the period are Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the 2014 Toronto Masters 1000 (6-2, 6-2) and Benoît Paire in Miami in 2018 (6-3, 6-4).
