In its in-depth analysis of ATP metadata, Tennis Insights has come up with an interesting new statistic.
The account cross-references two pieces of data: the percentage of forehands played in the court and the percentage of forehand winners (in relation to the total number of forehands hit each time).
The player with the most balanced profile is Brazil's Thiago Monteiro, with a rate of 87% of forehands played inside the court for 11% of forehands hit that were winners. A rather surprising figure when you consider that Monteiro is only 109ᵉ in the world.
We can also note that Quentin Halys is the one with the highest rate of successful winning forehands (17%) and Roberto Bautista Agut is the one with the highest rate of forehands hit into the court (almost 90%).
