Stats - Three Australians seeded for the Australian Open, a first since 1982
The Australian Open draw takes place this Thursday at 2.30pm local time (4.30am in France). The Australians will be a little more serene than usual, as three of their players will be seeded.
They are Alex de Minaur, seeded 8, Alexei Popyrin, seeded 25, and Jordan Thompson, seeded 27. This is the first time since 1982 that so many Australian players have been seeded.
On the other hand, there is concern for one of their number, Nick Kyrgios, who has suffered an abdominal injury. He has declared himself doubtful for the Australian Open.
