Struff launches Davis Cup semi-final: "I'm really looking forward to facing the Netherlands".
This Friday, Germany and the Netherlands meet in the Davis Cup semi-finals. Both teams impressed in the previous round.
The Mannschaft eliminated Canada, while the Dutch put an end to Spain's run, and consequently to Rafael Nadal's career.
Having put in a solid performance against Denis Shapovalov, Jan-Lennard Struff should be on court for this semi-final.
However, he is wary of his future opponent and is expecting a tough battle: "I think it's going to be incredible. It's a big step forward for us to get from the quarter-finals to the semi-finals.
Now we want to get to the final," he assured the Davis Cup website. "The Netherlands played brilliantly in their previous match.
We're expecting strong opposition. We know that the Germans and the Dutch have a bit of a rivalry, and the Dutch have incredible supporters.
I'm really looking forward to playing them," he concluded.
In the history of the competition, the two teams have met seven times. On six of these occasions, Germany have emerged victorious.
Oh ... wait ... Netherlands!!!
