Stunned at Wimbledon, Swiatek falls in the third round!
Grass is definitely Iga Swiatek's Achilles' heel. Potential world number one, the Pole fell in her third match to a bluffing Yulia Putintseva (3-6, 6-1, 6-2).
After two very solid matches, Swiatek fell on a bone. Not really at ease on the surface, she had to put up with a confident Kazakh (19 winners, 13 unforced errors).
Having won the title in Birmingham, Putintseva continued her fine form and earned herself a prestigious victory by knocking off the queen of the WTA circuit.
It now remains to be seen whether she will be able to digest this immense feat before going on to face Jelena Ostapenko in the last 16.
