After her miraculous victory over Naomi Osaka in the second round (7-6, 1-6, 7-5), Iga Swiatek needed to find her bearings in Paris. Accustomed to efficient, brief victories, the world No.1 needed to set the record straight. She did just that, overcoming a solid Marie Bouzkova in just 1h30 (6-4, 6-2).
Confident, the Pole dictated play perfectly, putting Bouzkova a long way from the ball. Efficient on serve and return, she once again seemed a cut above her opponent. Now through to the last 16, Swiatek seems to be inexorably on her way to a 4th French Open title. In the next round, she will face Potapova, who defeated Wang in almost 3 hours (7-5, 6-7, 6-4).
