Swiatek revived and ready for the United Cup: "We have another chance to go far in the competition".
Poland came close to winning the United Cup last year.
As finalists, Iga Swiatek's team had some match points before finally losing out to Germany, the current title holders.
The world number 2 has now arrived in Sydney, where she will take part in the team tournament.
Speaking to the WTA website, the four-time French Open winner described her ambitions for the tournament, which kicks off on December 27.
"Last year, we were really close. Hubi (Hurkacz) had match points.
Of course, this season we have another chance to go far in the competition and I hope we'll fight for the title.
The Polish team is incredible. It was a great experience to play with the same objective," Swiatek asserted.
"Last year's match had its share of emotions, but I remember it as something positive, even though we lost.
This will be the first tournament of the year, so we can't predict our level of tennis. We'll have some tough matches, especially against the Czech Republic.
With Karolina Muchova, we had some real battles, often three-set matches.
So it's going to be exciting. We have to take it step by step and only think about the first match," she concludes.
