Swiatek: "Sure that Coco and I will play other big games".
Iga Swiatek qualified for her 3rd consecutive French Open final, overcoming Coco Gauff on Thursday (6-2, 6-4). The world no.1 was delighted with her handling of the match, particularly in the important moments of the second set. The Pole knows that the American is likely to be one of her main rivals in the years to come. She said as much on Court Philippe Chatrier after her victory.
Iga Swiatek: "It was intense. In the 2nd set, it was tight because we managed to break each other. I'm glad I managed to stick to my tactical plan. And I'm happy to have kept going for the points when things got tough.
Coco is making great progress. Just look at her results. She's a tough opponent. At this age (20), it's obvious that she's going to get even better, and better at everything that's going on around her. Because it's not easy. I'm sure we'll play more intense matches against each other. She's one of the most consistent players on the WTA Tour."
