"That's not how I want to win matches," Alcaraz's reaction after Sinner's withdrawal in the Cincinnati final

The highly anticipated final between Sinner and Alcaraz in Cincinnati turned into a disaster. After just five games in the first set, the Italian decided to retire. The Spaniard addressed the unfortunate situation during the trophy ceremony.

"As you said, Jannik, that’s not how I want to win matches or a trophy. I can only say I’m sorry. I know and understand how you must be feeling right now. As I’ve said many times, you’re truly a champion.

I’m sure you’ll come back even better—stronger—from this situation. That’s what real champions do, and you are definitely one of them."

With this result, the Spaniard has now claimed his sixth title this season, his third in Masters 1000 after Monte-Carlo and Rome.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.
