The ATP has reportedly reached an agreement with Saudi Arabia for a new Masters 1000!
A few days ago, ATP boss Andrea Gaudenzi stated in an interview at the ATP Finals that a Masters 1000 in Saudi Arabia would not take place until 2028.
According to local press reports, the agreement with the Saudis was reached relatively quickly. Last week, the ATP signed a contract in Rome for the organization of two tournaments: a Masters 1000 and a WTA 1000.
For the men's circuit, this would be the tenth Masters 1000 on the calendar. Indian Wells would therefore no longer be the first tournament in this category to open the ball.
Both events, to be known as the Al-Qiddiya Masters, would be played in February, starting in 2027 or 2028.
Further details have yet to be revealed, but the ATP may make an official announcement in the near future.
