“We have talked too much about Sinner’s decision,” says Volandri, captain of the Italian Davis Cup team
The captain of the Italian Davis Cup team, Filippo Volandri, held a press conference at the ATP Finals in Turin. He once again addressed the case of Jannik Sinner, who decided not to play the Davis Cup Final 8.
In comments reported by Tennis World Italia, he states: “I am not speaking about bitterness. I am grateful to the guys, and each of them has always given their all. We have talked too much about Sinner's decision.
Anyone who knows tennis understands that it is a decision that must be accepted. I think a break after four consecutive participations and two victories is normal.
Without such a complete roster, we would not have won two Davis Cups. I have great confidence in the team that will be in Bologna. Our victories have given everyone immense confidence.”
