"They don't understand that in sports, you win and you lose," Bertolucci responds to Sinner's critics

On the podcast "La Telefonata," former Italian player Paolo Bertolucci addressed the criticism surrounding former world number one Sinner. After losing the US Open final to Alcaraz, many fans had criticized the Italian's performance.
"What can I say? They are wonderful. They don't understand that in sports, you win and you lose. The number one losing to the world number two is a very normal thing and part of life: seven or eight times a year, Sinner and Alcaraz lose.
Last night, Alcaraz played very well. Jannik didn't have much to do, and it's not a question of numbers or percentages: hats off, because when the Spaniard plays like that, you simply can't beat him."
For context, Sinner had won three of the last four Grand Slams. With this defeat, he ended that streak while also losing his world number one ranking.
