Thigh injury, Alcaraz underwent tests ahead of Davis Cup quarter-final
An express arrival in Bologna, but a major concern for Alcaraz: a thigh pain, which appeared as early as the group stage of the Masters, worsened as the tournament progressed. The initial medical results are now in the hands of his personal doctor, ahead of the clash against the Czechs on Thursday.
Less than 24 hours after the Masters final, Carlos Alcaraz arrived in Bologna. The world No. 1 continues his tour in Italy with the Davis Cup Finals, the final stage of his exceptional 2025 season.
However, Alcaraz left Turin with a thigh injury, the severity of which will be known very soon, as the Spaniard underwent medical tests this Monday.
Marca also reports that the results have been given to Juanjo Lopez, the designated doctor for the world No. 1.
The discomfort for the six-time Grand Slam winner is said to have first occurred during the group stage of the ATP Finals, before intensifying as the tournament progressed, first in the semi-final and then, even more noticeably, during the final played yesterday against Jannik Sinner.
As a reminder, Spain faces the Czech Republic on Thursday in the quarter-final.
