It was one of the most talked-about events of the preseason.

In Dubai, in front of an audience and a host of celebrities, Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios faced off in what had been sold as a historic "Battle of the Sexes."

But behind the show and the smiles, the encounter triggered a media storm.

Benoît Maylin: "A Pitiful, Totally Fake Interlude"

For Benoît Maylin, a tennis specialist journalist, this encounter is nothing but a farce.

"Finally, it's over, we're done with this farce, this pitiful, business-swollen, indigestible, totally fake interlude, whose only performance will be the lamentable one of having tarnished sport, tennis, and the difference between the sexes," he wrote on his X account.

"business-swollen"?
Professional tennis is a one venue of the sports entertainment world. It's part of the entertainment industry which primarily concerns itself with generating profit. This event was nothing more than a sideshow of the entertainment designed to bring attention to professional tennis in general ... to generate more profit.

Hello I'm new

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
