Tiafoe dominates Alcaraz at Charlotte exhibition

Just a few days after beating Ben Shelton in New York as part of the Garden Cup at Madison Square Garden, Carlos Alcaraz followed up with a second exhibition match in the USA.

Facing Frances Tiafoe in Charlotte, the Spaniard got off to the best possible start, but was eventually overtaken by his opponent of the day.

Tiafoe, ranked 18th in the world, won 5-7, 6-1, 11-9 to conclude his season with a prestigious, albeit anecdotal, victory over the four-time Grand Slam winner.

Prior to this eagerly-awaited showdown, Madison Keys dominated Sloane Stephens 7-5, 6-3 in a rematch of the 2017 US Open final.

Just over seven years ago, it was the latter who was crowned champion in her only Grand Slam title to date.
