When asked about Rafael Nadal's recent announcement, Toni Nadal was kind enough to give his explanation for his nephew's choice.
Unsurprisingly, he explained that the decision was not a conscious one, but a sudden one: "He thinks he can't do it any more, that his body can't do it any more.
He tried to come back this season because he thought he could have a good clay-court season.
He couldn't do it this year and he must be convinced that it's impossible for him now to play many matches. He decided to stop because he had no other option."
