Toni Nadal: "Rafa and Federer have earned greater respect".
Rafael Nadal's uncle spoke of the end of his nephew's career, but also of the legacy that will be left by the other two great champions of his generation, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
"There are players who, thanks to their sporting merits, go far beyond the simple status of athlete in their specific sport, like Djokovic.
But there are others who, through the way they win, go beyond sport.
That's what happened with Federer and Rafael, because life isn't just about winning, it's about how you win. Both have earned a higher level of respect," says Toni Nadal.
"If Spain manages to reach the Davis Cup final on Sunday, I could travel. I've got work to do all week and it's impossible for me to attend the matches at the start of the week," he concluded for Punto De Break.
As a reminder, Toni Nadal coached his nephew at the highest level from 2005 to 2017, and they won 16 Grand Slam titles during their long collaboration.
