Toni Nadal's Verdict: "The Rivals of Alcaraz and Sinner Have Disappeared" — A Stark Assessment of the New Generation
Often seen in the media, Toni Nadal does not hesitate to give his opinion on the new generation and the performances of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
While the uncle and former coach of Rafael Nadal acknowledges that Alcaraz has everything needed to chase the records of the Big 3, he delivers a stark assessment regarding the world number one's competitors, as reported by Punto Debreak.
"The other rivals have disappeared"
Because apart from Sinner, Toni Nadal considers that the other players are not capable of competing with Alcaraz, with the competition being "weaker" than in the era of the Big 3:
"Everyone sees what he is achieving; the athletic qualities he possesses are incredible. He has everything needed to succeed.
Moreover, he has an advantage that players from a few years ago did not have: his rivals are a bit weaker, less committed than those of the past. He has a great rival, Jannik Sinner, that's true, someone who is always present, but the others are not there.
I remember perfectly that in Rafael's time, besides Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, there were other great players like Andy Murray, Juan Martín del Potro, David Ferrer, or Stan Wawrinka, to name just a few. Those players were always there. In the current circuit, it feels like the other rivals have disappeared."
