Tsitsipas finally freed from his back pain: "He no longer feels any discomfort" according to his mother
Stefanos Tsitsipas finally free from his back problems? That is at least what his mother, Julia Apostoli, claims in an interview given to Sport Russia.
The former world No. 3 went through a complicated 2025 season, marked by a drop out of the top 30 after a series of withdrawals between September and November due to persistent back discomfort.
"He feels no discomfort, it's encouraging"
But for 2026, the two-time Grand Slam finalist should be back at 100% of his physical abilities, as his mother assured:
"He consulted a specialist doctor for his injury, who advised him to take a vacation and not continue the season with the Athens tournament, even though that tournament was his absolute priority. The problem was resolved without surgical intervention.
Stefanos was relieved. At that time, he was so tired that he was even ready to undergo surgery. He no longer feels any discomfort. That's encouraging, because previously, even in his daily activities, he felt back discomfort."
