A Breakup That Left Scars: 'This Relationship Was Not Easy for Him'

In an interview, Julia Apostoli, herself a former professional player, spoke about her son's very complicated season.

Questioned by Sports Russia, she did not avoid the question about the difficult breakup between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa.

'It wasn't easy. In the end, it's quite true: men may be even more sensitive than us,' she confides.

A 'Not Ordinary' Relationship, Born in Pain

According to her, this separation weighed heavily on Tsitsipas's loss of confidence and bearings, already diminished by a back injury that has been lingering for over a year.

'It wasn't an ordinary relationship: it was long-distance, and they were both physically injured. Paula couldn't even walk at the beginning... everything was difficult from the start,' she states.

A love born under tension, carried by two players already weakened, and which, according to Stefanos's mother, left deep emotional scars.
