Umberto Ferrara, Back Alongside Sinner in July, Opens Up About an Exceptional Season
Umberto Ferrara, dismissed after the doping scandal that shook Jannik Sinner last year, made his return to the world No. 2's team in July, just days after the latter's triumph at Wimbledon.
The Italian physical trainer took the time to reflect on this 2025 season, which was inevitably rich in memories, and which he had actually started alongside Matteo Berrettini:
"I have been involved in sports for many, many years, but I will never cease to be amazed by its beauty. Sport is about commitment, perseverance, sacrifice, emotion, smiles, tears, victory and defeat, joy and disappointment.
It is about challenging oneself and others, it is the desire to improve, analysis, trust in the work, it is about going through difficult times, sometimes painful to overcome, but it is also believing in the possibility of getting back up and starting again with enthusiasm.
It is impossible to sum all of this up in a single post. This season, which began with a collaboration alongside Matteo, whom I warmly thank, has given me many unforgettable moments, which I was fortunate to share with a fantastic team.
Thank you to each of them, and especially thank you to Jannik for his trust and for the beauty of this journey we have shared together."
