US Open mixed doubles to be played during qualifying, Mladenovic reacts

The US Open has decided to completely reform mixed doubles at its tournament. It will now be played during qualifying week, starting on Tuesday.

There will be 16 teams, 8 of which will have wild-cards. This poses a problem for players wishing to compete in this event, who have to go through the singles qualifiers.

Kristina Mladenovic reacted: "Terribly shocking news. They're doing this just to make more money in the first week of the event.

They're making it look like an exhibition for anyone who wants to play. What about the players who have to play the qualifiers and will want to play the mixed doubles?"

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.
