Victoria Mboko Hasn't Won a Single Match Since Montreal
It was last August 11th. Victoria Mboko, 18 years old, lifted the trophy at the prestigious WTA 1000 in Montreal, in front of her home crowd. But since that day, the young Canadian has struggled to find victory again.
US Open, Beijing, Wuhan, Ningbo... Mboko has suffered four consecutive first-round defeats. And not a single set won.
The most recent? A first-round elimination against Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska (30th) at the WTA 500 in Ningbo (6-3, 7-6).
To recall, before her title in Canada, Mboko had achieved promising results in Grand Slams. After coming through qualifying at Roland Garros and then Wimbledon, she reached the third round in the former and the second round in the latter.
