Draw for the WTA 500 Ningbo Tournament: Andreeva, Paolini, Rybakina, and Major First-Round Clashes
The Ningbo tournament will see some of the tour's top players competing for the title in China.
While the WTA 1000 Wuhan final takes place this Sunday, the WTA tour continues with a new tournament in Asia.
This time, it's the WTA 500 Ningbo with a strong field in attendance. The race to qualify for the WTA Finals is set to intensify. Defending finalist Mirra Andreeva will be the tournament's top seed and will enter the competition in the round of 16 against either Emma Raducanu or Zhu Lin.
Jasmine Paolini, who has not yet secured her spot in Riyadh, will also be in the draw and, like the Russian, the Italian will receive a first-round bye. She will face Zhang Shuai or Veronika Kudermetova in the second round. Another player in contention for the Masters, Elena Rybakina. The Kazakh will start her campaign against either Victoria Mboko or Dayana Yastremska.
