An exceptional shot in Dubai

There are winning shots… and then there are exceptional moves.

And in the semifinal of the WTA 1000 in Dubai against Clara Tauson (defeat 6-4, 6-7, 6-3), Karolina Muchová delivered one of those rare moves.

In front of the center court crowd, the Czech player executed a tweener that even the greatest showmen in tennis would have dreamed of.

While Tauson had made a beautiful drop shot, followed by a high-quality lob, Muchova pulled out an impressive inspiration: a perfectly centered, powerful between-the-legs shot that left her opponent standing still.

A prize awarded by the league

The WTA has made official what many fans had already decided long ago: Muchová's tweener is the "Point of the Year."

A coronation that may seem logical as the action condenses everything spectacular: speed, audacity, relaxation, instinct.

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
