Video - Drop Shot, Lob, and Tweener: The Final Between Alcaraz and Fritz in Tokyo Starts Off with a Bang
The ATP 500 final in Tokyo didn't take long to ignite the spectators at the Colosseum.
Carlos Alcaraz, in his first appearance at the Japanese tournament, is facing off against the 2022 champion, Taylor Fritz. And to say the least, the two players wasted no time in treating tennis fans to a spectacular point.
At 1-1 (30-15, on Fritz's serve) in the first set, the world number one, true to form, showcased his ability to mix up his shots, forcing his opponent to come to the net with a beautiful drop shot.
What followed? A lob, followed by a tweener, a backhand volley, and finally an (almost) exceptional shot that could have been the best point of the tournament.
