Video - Gauff frustrated and in tears at the Olympic Games
Coco Gauff couldn't resist the pressure.
Standard-bearer for the American delegation at the Paris Olympics, the world number 2 lost out in the Round of 16 (7-6, 6-2).
Opposed to an in-form Donna Vekic, she showed a mental restlessness reminiscent of her young age (20).
Leading well in the first act, she faltered at the worst possible moment, finally conceding the set in the tie-break (7-6).
However, it was in the second set that things really got out of hand.
Facing a break point in the second set (at 7-6, 3-2), Gauff exploded due to a disagreement with the referee.
Correcting his linesman's decision, the referee gave the point and therefore the break to Vekic.
Totally losing her composure, the American lashed out at the referee quite violently (see video below).
In tears, she declared: "I feel like I'm being robbed all the time in this game. This is the third time it's happened to me this year."
