Video - Half-volley followed by a tweener: The superb point won by Rune at Queen’s

Holger Rune secured his spot in the quarterfinals of Queen’s this Wednesday by defeating Mackenzie McDonald in three sets (2-6, 6-1, 6-1).
After losing the first set, the Dane shifted into high gear, claiming the next two sets in just 49 minutes of play.
At 4-1, 15-15 in the second set, he delivered a spectacular point (see video below). Rune first responded to McDonald’s short crosscourt forehand with an excellent slice down the line, before the rally continued from the baseline.
He then took the initiative by moving forward to the net and executing a brilliant half-volley. McDonald scrambled to retrieve the ball and replied with a lob, forcing Rune to pull off a tweener. A shot that made all the difference, as he was then able to calmly finish the point with a backhand.
Undoubtedly one of the best points of the week at Queen’s!
