Video - It was an incredible communion: The unforgettable atmosphere of Bercy 2024

When the sounds of rackets blended with the cheers from the blue stand: at the final edition of the Masters 1000 at Bercy, the crowd, the players, and the setting experienced an intense moment.

For this 39th edition, French supporters made themselves heard once again throughout the entire week. Indeed, the stands were on fire, especially whenever one of the French players, like Arthur Rinderknech or Ugo Humbert, engaged in a rally.

At the heart of the French supporters, the famous "blue stand," the fan zone for French supporters, played its part like never before. When a winning shot was made, or when a heroic point was won, it roared, recalling an atmosphere worthy of the Davis Cup.

To testify to this, German player Alexander Zverev said after a round of 16 match: "It's crazy. The atmosphere here is much stronger than at Roland-Garros."

Furthermore, this 2024 edition was loaded with symbolism: it marked the final chapter at Bercy before the tournament's move to the Paris La Défense Arena, but also a first final qualification for a Frenchman (Ugo Humbert) since Tsonga in 2011.

Finally, even though the tournament has moved to Nanterre this year, the history of Bercy will remain forever. That spirit, that crowd, that communion between players and the stands, are the landmarks that the tournament will take with it.

Ugo Humbert
