Video - Moutet and Davidovich Fokina Enjoy Themselves in Good Spirits in Toronto
In the second round of the Toronto Masters 1000, two players who left Washington empty-handed found themselves facing off in Canada. Corentin Moutet, a semifinalist in the American capital, met the unfortunate finalist, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
The Spaniard is still waiting to open his ATP title count, having missed the opportunity four times since the start of his career, including three times in 2025.
But the world No. 19 seems to have moved past his disappointment in Washington. In control throughout the match, the 26-year-old won in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) and advanced to the third round, where he will face Jakub Mensik.
In this match, the two players delivered some spectacular points and clearly enjoyed themselves on the court (see video below). After his victory over Jenson Brooksby, Moutet couldn’t keep the momentum going and will now turn his focus to the Cincinnati Masters 1000.
