Video - Moutet's Lucky Winning Tweener at Indian Wells

Corentin Moutet qualified for the second round of the Indian Wells Masters 1000. The 79th-ranked player in the world managed to escape the trap set by Jordan Thompson (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) but had to work hard. Ultimately, Moutet managed to win and will meet Holger Rune in the second round.
In the first set, with the score at 4-4, Moutet knew he couldn't afford to miss his service game to maintain the lead and thus push the Australian to serve to stay in the set.
After a serve from the Frenchman, Thompson managed to return it, before Moutet, 25, executed a tweener at the net.
The ball then hit the net tape before bouncing on Thompson's side, who was surprised and didn't have time to return the ball.
An improbable yet lucky winning shot, but one that allowed Moutet, a few points later, to hold his serve before breaking Thompson in the following game to take the first set (see video below).
After three consecutive defeats, Moutet, who hadn't won his first-round match since the Buenos Aires tournament against Sumit Nagal, will face the Dane for their second encounter on the tour. Three years ago, the Frenchman emerged victorious in their clash in Adelaide (7-6, 6-4).
