Video - US Open 2023: Spectator Ejected for Citing Hitler, Zverev Stunned
During his fourth-round match at the US Open 2023, Alexander Zverev was subjected to an inappropriate comment from the stands of the Arthur Ashe court.
As Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner were engaged in the fourth set of their duel in New York, the German interrupted the game to complain about the shocking remarks made by a spectator.
Zverev to the umpire: "He just said the most famous Hitler phrase in the world. It's unacceptable. It's unbelievable."
The chair umpire then asked the person to identify themselves: "Who's the smart guy who said that? Raise your hand. Who said that?"
After the match, the USTA released a statement confirming that the spectator had been ejected from the stadium.
