In Nice, on Monday evening, as he had just set foot on the ground at the airport after his victorious return from the Shanghai Masters 1000, Valentin Vacherot was greeted by his family, friends, and Monegasque supporters, flags in hand.

A moment he never would have imagined just a few days ago. Indeed, while he was still unknown to the general public, his performance in China sparked a wave of enthusiasm.

For the record, the 26-year-old player was born in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (Alpes-Maritimes) and has been representing the Principality of Monaco since 2021.
