A wild-card for Vacherot? "It's really a question that's being asked," says Pioline
In Shanghai, the Monegasque Valentin Vacherot achieved the most remarkable feat of his career, and it hasn't gone unnoticed by the radar of French tennis's top decision-makers.
Questioned by RMC Sport, Cédric Pioline, director of the Rolex Paris Masters, discussed the possibility of a wild-card for the season's final Masters 1000 tournament.
"A wild-card for Valentin Vacherot? Today, after his feat in Shanghai, it's really a question that's being asked. He has already submitted his request. We will meet to discuss it."
Ranked 204th before his victory in China, the 26-year-old player is now 40th in the ATP rankings: a very rare progression on the circuit.
