Video - When Fritz Jokes About a Winning Return Against Berrettini on Social Media

After an insane match, Taylor Fritz finally secured his spot in the semifinals of the Miami Masters 1000. The American, ranked world No. 4, squandered six match points in the second set before ultimately clinching the win in a nail-biting finish (7-5, 6-7, 7-5 in 2 hours and 44 minutes).
Fritz, who will face Jakub Mensik for a place in the Florida final, treated the center court spectators to a thriller that went down to the wire, ending in his favor. However, the match could have been shorter had he been more clinical with his opportunities (converting just 3 of 11 break points).
In the second set, while the Italian was serving to stay in the match at 7-5, 5-4 in Fritz’s favor, the American pulled off a stunning backhand return winner on his opponent’s first serve to level the score at 40-40, bringing him within two points of victory.
In the end, Fritz had to stay patient and wait a few extra minutes to seal the win, but he certainly didn’t forget that spectacular shot.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account after his victory, the 2024 US Open finalist shared a post of his winning return and wrote: "This one was crazy," followed by a laughing emoji. He’ll be back on court this Friday for his nighttime semifinal clash against Mensik.
