We'll know the new titleholder of the Masters Next Gen in a few hours' time. The final between Joao Fonseca and Learner Tien is scheduled for 8pm local time.
With just a few hours to go before this duel, it's time to take a look back. A year ago, it was Hamad Medjedovic who clinched the title against a fine Arthur Fils in the final (3-4, 4-1, 4-2, 3-4, 4-1 in 2h12).
A true hope of Serbian tennis, Medjedovic had put in a superb week to achieve what remains his finest success on the circuit.
Hampered by injuries, he didn't really change category this season, finishing at a disappointing 114ᵉ world ranking.
A small reason for hope: the Serb ended the year with an ATP final, losing to Denis Shapovalov (6-4, 6-4).
