We clearly know which direction to take during the preseason, says Fissette, Swiatek's coach

After winning her first title at Wimbledon this season, Iga Swiatek will undoubtedly have big goals for 2026, as confirmed by her coach Wim Fissette in recent hours.

World number 2, Iga Swiatek has had a season of highs and lows, but her work ultimately paid off. To everyone's surprise, the Polish player won the Wimbledon tournament, which revitalized her in a year that had been challenging for her until then.

Despite a group stage elimination at the WTA Finals, the 24-year-old player hopes to be more consistent next year. Her coach Wim Fissette outlines the program planned for his player in the coming months.

"Whatever happens, Iga (Swiatek) is already a legend. The priorities haven't changed; she wants to be the best in the world, that's the goal of the entire team. We want to win a Grand Slam tournament, or even several. We also aspire to win more victories in the WTA 1000 tournaments.

Our intention is to get as close as possible to the world number one spot, and we know perfectly well what we need to do to achieve that. Iga is still very young; she needs to progress step by step and incorporate new elements into her game.

We will achieve this by balancing her schedule a bit more, giving her a few extra weeks of training. I think we clearly know which direction we need to go during the preseason: we will focus on the serve and the return.

I am happy to see that Iga is serving faster and faster, with more variety in her serves and their directions, even adding slice serves to her repertoire at times. This makes her less predictable, even in neutral situations after the second serve.

At the moment, most players in the top 10 serve with more power and effectiveness, which is why I emphasize the importance of the first two shots," Fissette stated for Sport.pl in recent hours.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.

What a finish this is.. I believe King has used his boost for today. Skelp is closing strong. Two wins and he claims 1st if I lose my last prediction.

Gonna be difficult with only 2 pointers to choose from.
