"We did not seize the opportunities against Spain": the disappointment of Kohlmann, German captain
Michael Kohlmann did not try to hide the disappointment that engulfed the German camp after their defeat against Spain in the Davis Cup semifinal (lost 2-1).
"We are very disappointed with the result. We did not seize the opportunities against Spain. I think everyone was hoping for something more this year. We were feeling really good.
But in the end, we see that this format, with two singles and one doubles, is very balanced, it brings the teams much closer together. There is no margin for error. At certain moments, you cannot afford to fail.
You have to take advantage of the opportunities in every match. That is what we did not manage to do today and that is why we have to go home while Spain will play in the final."
For the record, Spain will face Italy in the Davis Cup final this Sunday.
