We trained for 15 days to face Sinner," the confessions of Ferrero

Former champion and now coach of world number one Carlos Alcaraz, Juan Carlos Ferrero has played a role in his evolution to the elite of world tennis, culminating in a second US Open title won against Sinner.
These results were achieved largely due to the constant evolution of his protégé's game. Details he revealed in an interview with the ATP.
"We trained for 15 days, focusing on the details to improve in order to face Jannik. We knew that on this type of surface (hard court), he is always very difficult to play. So we watched some matches, analyzing the specific details we needed to work on.
His performance today was perfect. He tried to reverse the roles by putting pressure on his opponent. I think that was one of the keys. These two players hit very hard, so the one who takes the initiative can gain the advantage in the points.
Carlos may have more variety in his game than Jannik, like the slice or the volley, but I still think it helps a lot when you change the way you play a bit. These are probably the tournaments (Cincinnati and the US Open) where he has improved the most on serve, and that has been one of the keys, for sure.
I'm sure Sinner's team is doing something very similar since his only real competition is Alcaraz. And we just saw Sinner do to Alcaraz at Wimbledon what Alcaraz did to Sinner at the USO.
