Weird men show up at tournaments, sometimes we reach a point of no return," says Collins
Danielle Collins appeared on the podcast *Reign with Josh Smith*, where she spoke about the misogyny she has faced.
She explained: "Often, when we react to someone’s bad behavior, our reaction is treated as the offense itself. It’s almost like we don’t have the right to respond.
I had a situation when I first joined the tour and had to deal with a cameraman who was very persistent. I lost a long three-set match, walked off the court, and was exhausted.
All of a sudden, this guy says, ‘Oh Danielle, I’m so sorry, can I give you a hug?’ I looked at my coach and said, ‘Sure.’
He comes in to hug me, and suddenly he leans in to kiss me, and I’m like, ‘Oh no!’
He literally starts kissing me on the side of my face.
People don’t see what happens behind the scenes—the weird men who show up at our tournaments and follow us to our hotels. So yeah, sometimes we reach a point of no return.
