"When I was injured, she was there to support me," Opelka's words about his doubles partnership with Venus Williams at the US Open
To the delight of fans, the 2025 US Open mixed doubles edition will feature circuit stars during Fan Week from August 19 to 20. Sixteen teams will compete for the promised $1 million prize check awarded to the winners.
While many players have spoken about their respective partners, it’s now Opelka’s turn to discuss his relationship with his compatriot and tennis legend Venus Williams.
"We have a lot in common: we love tennis, art, and we both live in South Florida. We’ve trained together a few times, and even when I was injured, she was always there to support me.
Beyond being an incredible tennis player, she’s a great friend off the court. I’ve learned so much from her," he said in an interview shared by Punto de Break.
Among the pairs featured at the event are also Raducanu-Alcaraz, Osaka-Kyrgios, Sinner-Navarro, and Djokovic-Danilovic.
