Why Can There Only Be Four Grand Slams?", Binaghi Calls for Change in Tennis

Italian tennis shone brightly at the Rome Masters 1000 with Paolini's triumph and Sinner's finals run. These results reward the tournament's significant investments. Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian Tennis Federation, shared his thoughts in an interview with *Punto de Break*. The 64-year-old aims to continue this momentum and also highlights the need for change on the tour:
"We must support our players to inspire them to believe in achievements like Jasmine's. We also need to stay attuned to the international market to seize every opportunity, from an ATP 250 to a bigger event. The situation in this circuit is abnormal. In what other sport is there a monopoly that has lasted over 100 years?
Why can there only be four Grand Slams? Why should Grand Slam points be twice as high as those of a Masters 1000? I don’t think that’s fair, or that it helps tennis grow. We’ll try to do our part without forgetting where we came from, remembering that 20 years ago, they wanted to take this tournament away.
If we keep going this way, I believe opportunities will abound. We are world champions, both on the court and organizationally.
For me, what is unfair is that there are 2 outdoor hard court tournaments beside 1 on clay and 1 on grass. Should be equal. Why not creating an indoor GS and deleting 1 outdoor hard court?
What is unfair too is that grass has no Masters 1000. But 3 on clay, 4 on outdoor hard court and 2 on indoor.
THIS is unfair.
