"Winning a Grand Slam allows you to approach the rest of the season with more serenity," says Gauff
Coco Gauff appeared at a press conference after her victory against Lucia Bronzetti in the round of 16 at Cincinnati.
She notably discussed self-confidence and how her Roland-Garros title helps her feel more at ease during her season.
"I'm in a similar situation to my US Open win (in 2023), maintaining this balance on and off the court. Honestly, winning a Grand Slam allows you to approach the rest of the season with more peace of mind.
No one can say the year has been bad—let’s just say everything becomes easier. However, that hasn’t always been the case for me, because fans expect me to win every week.
But it’s not easy with an eleven-month schedule, so it’s just as normal to have three or four good weeks as three or four bad ones. That’s how the tour is structured."
Gauff will face another Italian in the quarterfinals, Jasmine Paolini.
