WTA 125 Paris: Jacquemot and Belgraver Advance to Quarterfinals

This Wednesday, the first four round of 16 matches at the WTA 125 Paris tournament were on the schedule. Both French players who took to the court got the job done and secured their spots in the quarterfinals.
Elsa Jacquemot, who had already eliminated Yuan Yue in the previous round (3-6, 6-3, 6-3), benefited from Sonay Kartal’s retirement after the first set (6-4 ret.) to advance to the next stage.
The competition will heat up further as the Frenchwoman will now face another British player, No. 2 seed Katie Boulter, who defeated Daria Saville (6-3, 6-0). Julie Belgraver is also enjoying a strong week.
A wildcard entry, the world No. 365, who stunned Lulu Sun in her opening match (6-4, 1-6, 7-6), confirmed her form by winning a marathon battle against Solana Sierra (7-6, 6-7, 7-6 in 2h45).
She will need to recover quickly from her efforts in the last two matches, as Belgraver will face Aliaksandra Sasnovich on Friday, who advanced without playing after Katerina Siniakova withdrew.
