WTA 500 Stuttgart: Eight Top 10 Players Announced, Defending Champion Rybakina Absent

In April, one of the clay-court tournaments taking place just before the Madrid - Rome - Roland-Garros tour is the WTA 500 in Stuttgart. In Germany, the lineup is often enticing, and the 2025 edition will be no exception. Indeed, no fewer than eight players currently in the top 10 will be in Stuttgart, competing to win the famous Porsche.

Thus, Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva, Jasmine Paolini, Zheng Qinwen, and Emma Navarro are expected to be present from April 14 to 20. However, the two other current top 10 members, Madison Keys and especially the defending champion Elena Rybakina, are not among the players announced as participants next month.

The Kazakh had triumphed against Marta Kostyuk last year. Moreover, the Ukrainian is also not expected to defend her points earned in 2024 at the German venue.

Also worth noting are the presences of Paula Badosa, Diana Shnaider, Danielle Collins, and Barbora Krejcikova. The Czech, who has not played a single match in 2025 due to a back injury, is also on the list of participants for the 2025 Porsche Open. Clara Tauson, winner in Auckland and finalist at the WTA 1000 in Dubai, could be a formidable outsider in this tournament.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
