WTA Calendar: Jasmine Paolini's Proposal

Since the introduction of two-week WTA 1000 tournaments, players have been denouncing an unsustainable pace. On the front line: Jasmine Paolini, world No. 8. In an interview with Tennis365, she stated:
"Now we have more two-week tournaments. It's not easy, because it leaves us less time to rest and train. I think the best solution would be for some tournaments to last two weeks, and others only one. Not all, but some."
Nevertheless, if she is competing in singles, Paolini regularly participates in doubles. A choice that has also made her reflect:
"I realized that by playing both singles and doubles, it might be better for me to have two-week tournaments."
Finally, Paolini is not the only one concerned. In recent months, several top players like Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka have mentioned increasing fatigue. Injuries are piling up, and star absences from major tournaments are multiplying.
