Zverev after his defeat against Sinner: I don't think the score reflects what happened

Alexander Zverev spoke about his regrets from his match against Jannik Sinner at the ATP Finals. The German failed to convert any of the seven break points he had.

Zverev lost for the fifth consecutive time against Sinner. At the ATP Finals, the Italian was clinical, especially in the crucial moments, to win the match in two sets. Zverev had his chances to break the world number 2's serve, having five break points in the second set.

But Sinner responded with very good serves, which allowed him to fend off the danger. The two-time Masters winner in 2018 and 2021 thus discussed his match of the day against the Italian.

"I think it was a great battle from the baseline, I thought it was a high-level match and I don't think the score reflects what happened. It could have been a much tighter match, but he had two chances to break my serve and he took them, whereas I couldn't do it on the seven opportunities I had.

That's what it's like being among the best players in the world. You can clearly see how well he moves on the court and how he dominates from the baseline with his forehand and backhand, but his serve has improved impressively.

Out of the seven break points I had, he made seven first serves and I could only return one. On that point, he then hit a winner. Anyway, I am confident in my chances of facing him again this week," Zverev assured Punto de Break.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
