Déjà éliminé avec d'affronter Rublev, malgré sa victoire sur Alcaraz en ouverture, l'Allemand a fait le boulot en l'emportant en 1h41 et 2 manches. En face, le Russe est à nouveau apparu émoussé, il était temps que sa saison se termine.
